Last Chance for Animals
The San Diego Chapter of Last Chance for Animals (LCA)
The San Diego Chapter of Last Chance for Animals is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. Our mission is to educate the
public about animal rights issues and to promote a cruelty-free vegan lifestyle. Since we started our chapter in 1993, our main
activity has been to bring our information booth to street fairs and other events around San Diego County. We distribute lots of
excellent literature published by several different organizations, and we answer people's questions about going vegan, buying
cruelty-free products not tested on animals, students' right to not dissect, choosing humane entertainment, and other issues.
We also distribute thousands of free CDs with PETA's "Meet Your Meat" and John Feldman's "Free Me" videos, Bruce Friedrich's
"Veganism in a Nutshell" talk, and other videos and literature files.
LCA San Diego also hosts special guest speakers (including Michael Greger, Will Tuttle, George Eisman, Erik Marcus, and
Karen Davis) and protests/leafleting at locations such as:
- Ringling Bros. and other circuses (due to ongoing and extreme animal cruelty; www.circuses.com ).
- March of Dimes WalkAmerica (in opposition to their funding cruel and unethical animal experiments; www.reformthemarchofdimes.org).
- The Canadian Embassy (against their annual baby seal slaughter; www.harpseals.org ).
LCA has a free literature area at All Vegan, so stop by the store if you'd like a Vegetarian Starter Kit, Why Vegan pamphlet,
CD, or any other information. LCA also operates a lending library at All Vegan, and you are welcome to borrow books and
videos/DVDs at no charge.
