The Making of a Vegan Store

Thank you Bill Bork for all your help setting up the store! Here's Bill getting ready to load the cork floor tiles into his van for a trip to their new home at All Vegan. Bill (of LensFlair) is also responsible for the store's lovely lighting.

Even though we had a long way to go, this space felt right.

Kevin Thomart spent the weekend of the San Diego fires installing the floor, and taking those ugly bars off the windows.

Joy's sister Holly Butte and great friend Dana Thomart stocked the shelves (and then Holly re-stocked them...) Holly's husband Shad was a huge help too - especially at 2 AM on opening day when he spliced the phone wires together so the credit card machine would be ready to go! That was after he put together the storage shelving units & hung the wall fabric & posters. (Holly & Shad are pre-vegans, but they sure came through when I needed them.)

Opening Day

Audriana Ocean, Rebeca Trammell, and Trish Karolik were there to help celebrate on Opening Day!

Being vegan, of course we all were excited to start opening day with chocolate cake! Thank you Jill Fritz, baker extraordinaire! (Joy and Mary Ann Stanco are clearly ready for a piece.)
